Partnership, Progress and Prosperity in Africa
What was once Africa's most important mining event, has evolved into the world's signature forum for mining industry opinion shapers. The Mining Investment in Africa Indaba is synonymous with the renaissance of African mining since the mid-1990s. Billions of dollars has been injected into the continent as investors used the fulcrum of Mining Indaba to discover new opportunities in natural resources in the world's last remaining mineral frontier.
The twelfth consecutive annual Mining Indaba will gather together more than 3,000 delegates, 150 sponsors, representatives of over 500 companies, and an anticipated 40 government and quasi-government delegations. The participants will represent nearly all the stakeholders in the mining industry value chain throughout Africa. The theme for this year's event is "Partnership. Progress. Prosperity."
Mining Indaba is a professional three-day conference. It offers a comprehensive schedule of presentations, panels and plenary sessions. Speaking sponsorships are by invitation, and early pre-registration is recommended as events and accommodations, including a preferred rate at the outstanding 5-star Arabella Sheraton Grand Hotel, are first-come-first-served. As a forerunner to the official program, IIC facilitates an industry-civil society colloquium to discuss best practices of sustainable development in extractive industries. Also, the African Ministers Forum will be convened by the South African government to discuss recent developments and challenges, and to formulate consistent policies.
