Absol Internet Business Solutions has successfully launched the brand new and enhanced version of the national vehicle valuation system for Porsche South Africa. Building on from the first version of the solution, launched in 2016, the Porsche Valuation System v2.0 (PVS v2), is an all-in-one solution enabling all Porsche South Africa dealerships to perform professional, high quality and precise vehicle appraisals in the quickest possible time in an effort to minimise the inconvenience to customers.
PVS v2 is an online solution providing secure access to agents gathering detailed vehicle information via desktop computers, tablets and smartphones. The solution offers workflow to allow for senior managers to adjust and approve a valuation before it is presented to the client.
All information is stored centrally on a database with all previous valuations on vehicles saved. This allows sales agents and staff to see any previous valuations from other dealerships as well as any notes or comments made. This presents Porsche South Africa with a unified valuation system for all vehicles within the pre-owned South African sector.
The National Valuation system features a set of reports allowing agents to see the history per VIN number as well as a costing versus profit averages report to name a few. Further information reports per branch, per salesperson and sales trend reports are also possible. The system includes advanced built-in notification processes and workflow rules to ensure all dealership managers are connected with their employees and kept up to date with the most recent events at their branch.
Solution Details
The solutions is a secure, web based solution, client-server application developed in C#, Microsoft .NET Core and is based on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework architectural pattern. PVS v2 is a modern, secure, and highly scalable web-based solution designed and developed to enable Porsche South Africa's passionate vehicle assessors to perform their day to day tasks with ease. Designated administrators are able to manage system master data, which includes a database of authorised system users & their available system roles as well as functionality to update and maintain the official Porsche vehicle range available on the South African market today.
System Technology
The system has been developed as a classic client-server web based application which consists of:
- A Single Secure Server
- A management interface accessible from any end point which communicates directly with the server
- A cross browser compatible C# .NET Core Framework web application
- A relational database to enable comprehensive reporting
- A responsive customised layout
The technology stack / architecture makes the system easy to migrate to the cloud and is scalable.

Detailed reporting and statistics provides Porsche South Africa an overview which highlights the status of both their short term targets as well as their long term goals.
The first version of the system, Porsche Valuation System V1 (PVS v1), was originally developed to provide vehicle appraisers the capability to capture detailed information of a vehicle after it being inspected. A modular extension called the "Rapid Capture Interface" was then added to the system, which enabled appraisers to complete various tasks during their inspection rather than once the inspection has been completed.
Some of these inspection tasks include:
- Creating notes for various descriptive vehicle areas
- Capture & Upload images directly during inspection
- Add & update vehicle accident history
- Update/edit existing vehicle data
- Quickly access customer information
- Scanning of vehicle licence discs to prepopulate data
Although PVS v1 was more than capable on delivering the original requirement, certain aspects of the system could be improved on. These improvements included image processing, reporting, accessibility and general system performance and speed.
The system was redesigned and developed using the latest software & system technology. Although PVS v2 inherited most of the original system specifications and features, areas of the first solution which previously shown performance limitations was drastically improved on version 2.
The Rapid Capture Interface has been equipped with the option of having client side image processing during limited connectivity. Appraisers have now also been provided with their own media gallery, which enables them to capture only the necessary details during inspection and assign any stored photographs and documents to the appraisal at a later stage.
Information sharing and the internal notification system has also been upgraded. One-click triggers have been introduced to speed up this notification process. Store or branch managers are assigned and receives workflow notification at certain events.
PVS v2 is also equipped with advanced reporting capabilities, thanks to the structured relational data. The solution is a scalable system which can be extended and integrated into when needed.
